Post-surgery nursing, at home.

The first 24 to 72 hours after discharge are when complications show up and questions pile up. A Texas-licensed Registered Nurse comes to your home to manage the wound, watch the vitals, keep the medications straight, and teach the family what to watch for.

What this covers

What a post-surgery visit includes

A typical visit runs about an hour: the nurse checks the incision and any drains, changes the dressing with sterile supplies, takes vitals, reviews every medication against the discharge list, walks you through safe movement, and documents it all. Waste and sharps leave with her. You get a plain-language summary of what is normal and what warrants a call.

How soon a nurse can start after discharge

Same-day post-discharge visits are often available across DFW, and same-week is routine. The ideal is to arrange care before your surgery date so a nurse is already scheduled for the day you get home. Kando confirms the plan, the cadence, and a single point of contact within 24 hours of your first call.

How we coordinate with your surgeon

Kando works under physician-supervised protocols and does not replace your surgical team. The nurse follows the discharge orders, flags anything that looks off, and relays concerns to the surgeon's office directly so you are not the one chasing a callback. Visit notes are available to share at your follow-up.

Service area

Delivered across Frisco, Little Elm, Plano, McKinney, Allen and North Texas. Kando is private-pay. Hourly, daily, and retainer rates are quoted per family after a free 20-minute consultation. HSA and FSA funds are accepted, and superbills are provided on request for self-submitted reimbursement.

Frequently asked questions

Do you serve my city?

Kando serves Frisco, Little Elm, Plano, McKinney, Allen, Prosper, Celina, The Colony, Denton, Dallas, and Arlington, plus the wider North Texas area. If you are not sure whether we reach you, call or text and we will tell you honestly.

Can you coordinate with my surgeon's office?

Yes. The nurse follows your discharge orders under physician-supervised protocols, relays concerns directly to the surgeon's office, and keeps visit notes you can share at your follow-up appointment.

Can I arrange care before my surgery date?

Yes, and it is the best way to do it. Booking ahead means a Registered Nurse is scheduled to meet you the day you get home, rather than scrambling after discharge. The free consultation can happen weeks in advance.

Do you take HSA or FSA?

Kando does not bill insurance directly. HSA and FSA funds are accepted for eligible care, and superbills are provided on request so you can self-submit for possible reimbursement.
